One Great Birthday!

Today I turned 35, and it was also my last day of school. Two reasons to celebrate, and it turned out to be a really excellent day.

Greg got me the coolest iced tea carafe from this neat tea shop in the mall, Teavana. I drink a TON of iced tea in the summer, and I thought this is the perfect way to carry it with me. I've been trying to drink more fruit/flower based teas and green teas, so Greg found me some delicious loose tea to go with the set.

After our half-day of school, some of my work friends took me out for tapas and sangria at Meson Sabika. I was excited to see so many co-workers there, enjoying the afternoon.

Next we went to the movies. We saw Now You See Me, which was pretty good. My standards aren't that high, though, since I see maybe two movies per year. I love going to the Hollywood Palms, too. Their popcorn is awesome.

My favorite part of the day, of course, was when I celebrated with the boys and Grandma Toni. Henry was fascinated with the bow on my gift.

Nick tried it on for size, too.

Grandma Toni got me a cute blouse with a camisole. Her real present, though, was watching the boys so that I could spend the afternoon with my friends.

We had Sugar Monkey cupcakes, which are simply delicious. The boys liked playing with the candle and match and pretending to blow them out.

Henry is practicing for his birthday, which is on Sunday. He even licked the frosting off of the candle.

My birthday was wonderful, but the best gift of all is knowing I get to spend the next few months with my family.  :)

  1. Glad you had a gReAt birthday!
I mean, how could it not be with tapas?

Love the tea carafe too. Very nice gift.
    Happy Birthday!

  2. Thanks Liz! It really was a great birthday. I've been using the tea carafe all the time. It doesn't cut out all my caffeine, but it sure cuts it down a bit.
